From B- to A+ — A Complete Website Rebuild for an 11 Therapist Growing Practice.
Co & Associates had grown from a solo practice into an 11 therapist team in Milton, Ontario, but their Wix site didn't represent that growth well. Little SEO, practitioner-centered copy, and a design that they loved but needed updating. We rebuilt everything from the ground up: storytelling-driven messaging, a filterable team directory, a full blog CMS, and complete technical SEO.
Garion Sparks-Austin had built something rare — a therapy practice with 11 professionals, a co-visionary partnership program, and a deeply personal mission rooted in her own story. But the old Wix website wasn't showcasing the business she has built. The H1 was just the business name, the copy was practitioner-centered rather than client-centered, and there was virtually no SEO setup. For a regulated profession where testimonials aren't an option, the site needed to build trust through design, copy, and structure alone.
We rebuilt everything from the ground up: storytelling-driven brand messaging that positions the visitor as the hero, a team directory with 74 filterable specialization tags, a full blog CMS (The Collab Journal), a 16-page lead magnet workbook, events system, and complete technical SEO — all wrapped in a design inspired by the physical office space itself. Warm slate blue-gray tones, eucalyptus leaf accents, and scroll-triggered animations that feel calming rather than distracting.
Before & After: The Numbers Speak
We ran the old website through our 5-dimension audit before rebuilding. Here's where it stood — and what the new site delivers.
Old Website
out of 100 (B-)
New Website
out of 100 (A+)
First Impression
'A Space Where You Can Breathe Again' — the headline immediately speaks to the visitor's emotional state. Migrating off Wix to a modern stack cut load time from ~8 seconds to under 2, recovering the biggest point loss. Warm therapy office imagery, sage-green palette, optimized hero images with skeleton loading, and clear service descriptions create a calming, near-instant first impression.
Trust & Credibility
As a CRPO/OCSWSSW-regulated practice, testimonials aren't an option — so trust is built through design and credentials alone. Visual credential badges (CRPO, OCSWSSW) are now displayed prominently, alongside specific numbers: '11 therapists, 74 specializations, 5 languages served.' Authentic team photo, Physiomed collaboration logo bar, and the personal 'We Care Because We've Been There' positioning round out a strong trust foundation without a single review.
Clarity & Copywriting
Client-centered copy throughout: 'Feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about what's next? You're not alone.' The three-step journey framework (Connect, Explore, Grow) reduces uncertainty about the therapy process. Outcome-focused subheadings on service pages ('What to Expect in Your First Session') and 'Who This Is For' qualifiers help visitors self-select. Transitional hooks between sections keep the scroll narrative tight. A +23 point jump from the old practitioner-centered copy.
Call-to-Action & Conversion
'Schedule a Consultation' appears above the fold with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation offer. A sticky mobile CTA bar keeps the phone number and booking button visible on scroll — critical for therapy, where anxious clients need a direct line at any moment. A 'Find Your Therapist' quiz funnels visitors to pre-filtered team directory results, and a downloadable therapy readiness guide captures visitors not yet ready to commit.
SEO & AI Search Readiness
The strongest dimension — a +41 point jump. Comprehensive Professional Service schema with services catalog, geographic coordinates, area served, and opening hours. FAQ Page JSON-LD and breadcrumb schema on every page. Individual therapist Person schema on profile pages. Location-specific landing pages ('Therapy in Milton,' 'Counselling near Halton') capture local search intent. Core Web Vitals now pass after the platform migration, completing the technical picture.
Why We Made the Decisions We Did
Every design choice has a reason. Here's the strategic thinking behind the build.
Storytelling Brand Messaging
Every headline positions the visitor as the hero and Co & Associates as the guide. Copy was rewritten from practitioner-centered ('We care') to client-centered ('You don't have to go through this alone').
Team Directory with Smart Filtering
11 therapist profiles with 74 filterable specialization tags, 5 languages, and availability badges. Shareable filter URLs let referral links like ?focus=Anxiety&availability=virtual take visitors directly to matching therapists.
Lead Magnet Workbook
A 16-page interactive PDF — 'Your Therapy Match' — helps prospective clients identify what they need before booking. Captured via a dedicated landing page with a 2-email nurture sequence.
Full Blog CMS (The Collab Journal)
Built-in WYSIWYG editor, scheduled publishing, AI-generated SEO metadata, RSS feed, and automatic professional disclaimers. Positions the practice as a thought leader in mental health.
Design Inspired by the Office
Warm slate blue-gray palette with cream and eucalyptus leaf accents drawn from the physical space. Scroll-triggered animations feel calming — critical for an audience that may already feel overstimulated.
Complete Technical SEO Build
Structured data on every page, dynamic sitemap, server-side OG tags, keyword-optimized content, and Google Business Profile integration — built in from day one, not bolted on later.
